Course Overview

This 3-day recertification course is designed for instructors who wish to renew their USCCA credentials and continue teaching the Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals curriculum. Led by Howie Williams—USCCA Training Counselor and founder of Caliber Firearms Academy—this course blends technical excellence, ministry tone, and trauma-informed instruction.

Participants will engage in peer-led teaching modules, receive personalized coaching, and demonstrate safe, confident instruction on the range.

What You’ll Learn
– Refresher on USCCA curriculum and updated teaching methodology
– Peer presentation of seven core modules
– Classroom management and student engagement strategies
– Range safety protocols and coaching techniques
– Legal updates and ethical instruction standards
– Common instructor pitfalls and how to avoid them

Range Qualification
– Conduct live-fire drills with peer coaching
– Demonstrate safe instruction and corrective feedback

Required gear:
– Defensive handgun + 200 rounds
– Eye & ear protection
– Extra magazines (2) + mag pouch
– Range bag, brimmed hat, closed-toe shoes
– Pen, notebook, water.  Need lunch on the third day
